It’s a great moment when you graduate from tent camping to your first pop-up, trailer, 5th wheel, or motorhome. You can now experience a whole new space and experience of comfort and ease. It also means that you can bring along things that you perhaps wouldn’t have thought to bring along. We have a checklist that we use that can help you with your packing. Everyone camps differently and “want”s and “need”s are up to the individual, group, or family, but this was a great list that I found helps us keep the essentials (for us). Tape it to the inside of one of the storage areas so you can reference it. And never be left stranded.

RV/Trailer Essentials:

  • Surge protector
  • Electrical adapters
  • Toilet chemicals
  • Sewer kit
  • RV-friendly toilet paper
  • Water pressure regulator
  • Drinking water hose
  • Levelling blocks or wood scraps for levelling
  • Tire pressure gauge (probably already in your tow vehicle)
  • Extension chords
  • Wheel chocks
  • Shovel
  • Electrical and duct tape
  • Flashlight
  • Battery jumper cables (probably already in your tow vehicle)
  • Emergency road kit (probably already in your tow vehicle)
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Large zip close bag for documents, including license, registration, reservations, etc.

Kitchen and cooking supplies:

  • Water bottles for hiking and packing in and out.
  • Cutting board(s)
  • Utensils/cutting knives
  • Can opener
  • Tongs and skewers
  • Dish soap (Use Environmentally friendly)
  • Camping griddle and pie iron
  • Bowls, plates and cups
  • Paper towels
