Touchwood Hills Post Provincial Historic Park commemorates a Hudson's Bay Company trading post established in the rolling Touchwood Hills country of central Saskatchewan in the 1840s, serving as a supply and trading point along the Carlton Trail. The Carlton Trail was the main overland route across the northern prairies before the railway, used by Métis hunters, missionaries, NWMP patrols, and waves of settlers moving west.
Interpretive signage explains the post's role in the regional economy and travel networks of the mid-nineteenth century, set in the pleasant mixed parkland landscape of the Touchwood Hills. The park is best experienced as part of a broader tour of the historic sites and parks of central Saskatchewan.
