White Butte Trails Provincial Recreation Site offers a network of multi-use trails in the hills southeast of Regina, centred on White Butte — at 728 metres, the highest natural point in Saskatchewan. The summit trail rewards the short but genuine climb with panoramic views stretching far across the surrounding prairie on clear days. Hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing in winter all find a home on the trail network.
The site's location within an hour of Regina makes it one of the most accessible outdoor recreation areas in the province for city residents. The mix of grassland and shrub habitat supports white-tailed deer, coyotes, and an interesting assemblage of grassland bird species throughout all four seasons.
